Brief Analysis on the Problems of Plant Illumination

Light is one of the most important elements for plant growth, and everyone knows the importance of photosynthesis for plants. However, different plants in nature need different light intensities: some plants need direct sunlight, and some plants do not like direct sunlight. So how do we provide enough light according to the characteristics of different plants when caring for plants? Let's take a look.

We have divided several types of lighting according to the intensity of sunlight. These types mainly correspond to different scenes of growing plants, whether indoors, on a balcony, or in a yard.

full sun

As the name suggests, this is the intensity of light at which one can be exposed to the sun throughout the day. This type of lighting usually appears on balconies and south-facing courtyards. In fact, this is the extreme intensity of light. Indoor leafy plants, in principle, cannot withstand such an intensity of light and either burn in the sun or directly sunbathe to death. But some flowering plants and cacti love such a light environment. Such as rose, lotus, clematis and so on.

half sun

The sun shines for only 2-3 hours a day, usually in the morning, but not counting the strong midday and summer sun. This type of light is often found on balconies facing east or west, or in windows and patios shaded by large trees. He avoided the strong midday sun perfectly. Half-sunshine should be the most ideal solar environment. Most leafy plants like such a sunny environment, but half-sunshine is difficult to obtain in indoor plant conditions. Some flowering plants also like this environment, such as hydrangeas, monstera, and so on.

Natural Live Plants Goeppertia Veitchiana

bright diffused light

There is no direct sunlight, but the light is bright. This type of lighting is commonly found on south-facing balconies or indoors where windows are only shaded from the sun, and also in the shade of trees in courtyards. The vast majority of leafy plants like this kind of environment, such as the popular leafy plants, which are tropical leafy plants, water pineapple family, air pineapple family, general philodendron crystal flower candles and so on.

dark

North-facing windows and areas of the interior further away from windows have shade lighting. Most plants do not like this environment, but some plants can also grow well in such an environment, such as some ferns, tiger sawn, single leaf orchid, dracaena and so on. But in any case, plants love bright light without harming it (sunburn).
