Several common problems in raising cactus

In recent years, cactus has become more and more popular with many flower lovers, not only because of its beauty, but also because it is relatively easy to care for. However, you still need to be aware of some maintenance issues to avoid some common mistakes. Below I share some experience and skills, hoping to help flower lovers.

First, we do not recommend using garden soil indoors as it can easily lead to siltation and root rot. When growing prickly pear indoors, it is recommended to use a well-permeable soil and adjust the particle size accordingly. Also, it is advisable to keep some water and drain the excess, this way you avoid the risk of root rot.

Secondly, don't ignore the pruning of old roots when changing pots. The exposed root system must be dried before planting, so that the wound can heal and enough new roots can grow to function as a plant to absorb nutrients. During the drying process, don't forget to expose the prickly pear to light, which will help restore growth.

Third, summer is the period when cactus needs sufficient water and fertilizer. The fertilization period is 1 month, and attention should be paid to choosing the appropriate type of fertilizer. If you want your plants to bloom, you can choose a fertilizer that is high in phosphorus, and if you want faster growth, you need a fertilizer that is high in nitrogen.

Fourth, cactus requires relatively high light intensity, so it must be placed in sufficient sunlight, otherwise abnormal barbs will grow, which will seriously affect the appearance. It is best to place it directly outside.

Fifth, the temperature of rainwater in summer is low, and stagnant water should be avoided. If you must water because of the weather, consider using granular soil to avoid water retention and root rot.

Finally, watering should be stopped in winter, and the maintenance products should be as follows: place in a well-ventilated, dry and cool place, one pot for each plant, and keep the soil dry to avoid root rot due to excessive watering.

For cactus lovers, each prickly pear is unique and their beauty and uniqueness cannot be expressed in words. Therefore, at every stage of maintenance, we need to treat them with love, patience and care. While admiring the beauty of the prickly pear, we also enjoy the texture and emotion of the prickly pear. In the process of taking care of prickly pears, we can also experience the joy and sense of accomplishment brought about by taking care of them.
